Tours 2001-2002 Tour
I: A Day in Abilene The guided tour of the famous Seelye mansion by Terry Teejen, a former music teacher and the current owner, will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end about 12:00 noon. The historic Seelye mansion contains 25 rooms with their original furniture, Edison light fictures, a ballroom, and a bowling alley. Following the tour we will have lunch at well known "Farm House Restaurant". Around 2:00 p.m. we will take the bus to the Russell Stover Candy Factory just outside of Abilene. Following a talk about making choclates we will visit the Russell Stover Gift Shop and/or relax in their Coffee Shop. At 3:30 p.m. we will again board the bus for the return trip to Manhattan.
Tour II: Master Teacher Begun in 1969 by former Manhattan teacher, Robert DeBruyn, Master Teacher is an educational publishing and consulting firm. Recently, Master Teacher formed a partnership with North Central Association to provide internet in-service training for teachers. Beach Museum of Art The
opening of the new Beach Museum of Art on the KSU campus brought together
numerous art donations and collections housed across the KSU campus.
The tour will include a behind the scenes look at storage and preservation
of the collections,
the educational program for children, art programs, and gallery.
